Kerusha Pillay
Advisory Board Member
Kerusha Pillay is a practicing member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates and holds chambers in the Duma Nokwe Group of Advocates in Sandton, Johannesburg. She is also an associate member of the KwaZulu – Natal Society of Advocates and holds door membership in Group 2 in Pietermaritzburg.
During the past thirteen years in practice, she has gained experience in insolvency law, business rescue, mining law, mining tax law, commercial litigation, contractual disputes, defamation, municipal law, constitutional and administrative law.
She is committed to achieving the sustainable transformation of the legal profession to eradicate the skewed racial and gender demographics. To further this objective, she is an active member of Advocates for Transformation and the National Association of Democratic Lawyers, two voluntary associations of legal practitioners who strive to create equal opportunities for all lawyers to redress the power imbalance.
Kerusha has held leadership positions in both organisations, as well as served as a member of the Bar Council in both KwaZulu – Natal and Johannesburg.
